LAHORE
Hot and humid weather was observed in the provincial capital here Friday while Met office predicted scattered rain with dust-thunderstorm over upper parts of the country during Eid holidays, which will provide a good relief from current hot and humid during the coming week.
The Met officials said rain bearing winds were likely to approach upper parts of the country from coming Sunday. They predicted that rain/dust-thunderstorm is expected at a few places of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, North Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala divisions) and Kashmir on Sunday.
They further predicted that rain/dust-thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Fata, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Lahore divisions), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during Monday to Wednesday while rain/dust-thunderstorm is also expected at a few places of Northeast Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob & Sibbi divisions) on Tuesday/Wednesday. They concluded that partly cloudy weather is expected in interior Sindh and South Punjab with high temperatures touching 40°C. On Friday, highest maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi, Noorpur Thal and Dalbandin where mercury reached 42°C while in Lahore it was 34°C and humidity was 56 percent.
