LDA auctions seven plots

LAHORE

A total of seven plots, six commercial and a hospital site, were auctioned by Lahore Development Authority (LDA) against a sum of Rs 990.02 million on Thursday.

Commercial plot, 6-D, measuring 14 kanal 7 marla, at Finance and Trade Centre, Johar Town, was auctioned for Rs 518.10 million. Its biding opened from Rs. 1.5 million per marla whereas it fetched Rs.1.8 million per marla.

A hospital site, 6-F, measuring 14 kanal, at Finance and Trade Centre, Johar Town, was auctioned against a sum of Rs 407.6 million. Its biding opened from Rs. 1.2 million per marla whereas it fetched Rs.1.4 million per marla.

Commercial plot, 23, of Civic Centre, LDA Avenue-I, measuring one kanal and five marla, was auctioned for Rs.48.3 million. Its base price had been fixed Rs 1.8 million per marla while it was sold for Rs 1.9 million per marla.

Four commercial plots at Jubilee Town were also auctioned for Rs. 16.14 million. Per marla base price of these plots had been estimated by the approved Evaluators of Pakistan Bankers Association.

Open auction of commercial plots and hospital/dispensary sites of various housing schemes was held at LDA Community Centre, 239-A, New Muslim Town. It was participated by 16 bidders.

Tough competition was observed at this occasion as the competitors enthusiastically made their bids.

one-window cell: Lahore Development Authority Director General Nabeel Javed has decided to personally supervise the working of LDA One-Window Cell. He also said that he would pay surprise visits for this purpose daily. He made this decision for expeditious disposal of public issues and transforming LDA into a vibrant and people friendly-organisation.

He directed all the directors concerned to mark their attendance at the One-Window Cell at 8 AM, and remain present at the place from 11 AM to 12 noon for being accessible to the public.

On Thursday, the LDA director general visited the One Window Cell and listened to a large number of applicants. He issued on-the-spot directions for immediate redress of their grievances.

He directed that standard operating procedure be simplified to provide immediate relief to the people.

He directed the officials concerned to ensure disposal of public applications within the given time frame and avoid putting unnecessary objections to their pleas. He warned that those using delaying tactics would be dealt with strictly.

He directed One Window Cell Director Fahad Anees to personally contact the sub-registrars, treasury officers and other relevant departments for early verification of documents of the applications for their quick disposal.

Meanwhile, Tahira Tabassum, a secondary school teacher, LDA, was dismissed from service by LDA HQ Additional Director General Amina Munir. 

She was proceeded against under Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act, 2006, on account of her failure in joining her duties upon rejection of her request for extension of ex-Pakistan leave for five years twice by the competent authority.
