Defending Dubai

This refers to the article, ‘Is there a different Islam in Dubai?’. Having lived, worked and interacted with my Arab brothers at every level for over 30 years, I can vouch that, from an ordinary person to the top ministers, it is difficult to find better Muslims than Dubai citizens. Tens of thousands of expensive cars are parked in the open and none of these get stolen. Justice is speedy. Court cases are usually decided by the judge in a week.

As the former technical manager of the largest insurance company in the Middle East, I am proud that I was a part of creating Dubai from a small sandy town to what it is now. If only Pakistan had the same honesty and work ethic, we could easily become as modern and developed as Dubai.
