NEW DELHI: India has approved the use of ‘chilli grenades’ to quell protests in occupied Kashmir. The ‘chilli bombs’ are likely to contain the Assamese bhut jolokia chilli, also known as the ghost chilli or the Naga chilli, KMS reported.
For a time it was the hottest in the world according to Guinness World Records. It measures more than 1,000,000 units on the Scoville scale, about a hundred times hotter than the average jalape.Indian police and paramilitary personnel would also be allowed to use water cannon and ear-splitting sonic weapons.
They have come under fierce criticism recently for firing pellets on the protesters in the occupied territory that have resulted in the loss of eyesight, in both or one of the eyes, in hundreds of youth.
