Citizens robbed of cash, valuables

GUJRANWALA: Several citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in robbery and theft incidents on Saturday.

In Eminabad, bandits intercepted motorcyclist Nadeem and his wife and snatched gold ornaments, Rs 30,000 and two cell phones. Manzoor was robbed of Rs 42,000 and two cell phones in Wahndo.

In Qila Didar Singh, Aziz was deprived of Rs 13,000 and a cell phone. Gunmen snatched new motorcycle, Rs 11,000 and a cell phone from Aslam in Noshera Virkan.

At Sohdra, Khuda Bux was robbed of Rs 18,000 and two cell phones.

Robbers snatched motorcycle (STL-7419), Rs 6,000 and two cell phones from Waqas in Wazirabad. New motorcycles of Sohail, Nabi Ahmed, Musa and Mansoor were stolen from different parts of the city.

THREE OFFICIALS BOOKED: Anti-Corruption Establishment authorities Saturday booked three government officials.

Applicants had accused in their pleas that a senior clerk Nasrullah of education department, police inspector Ahmed Ali and Patwari Saifullah had received bribes from them.

After the probe, Director Anti-Corruption Establishment Rana Abdul Shakoor issued arrest order of Nasrullah, who allegedly received a heavy bribe in connection with providing a job to the applicant in the education department.

Rana ordered cases against police inspector Ahmed Ali and Patwari Saifullah on allegations of receiving bribe and misusing their authority.

NARCOTICS SEIZED: CIA police Saturday claimed seizing 80kg opium and charas on GT Road near flyover of Gujranwala.

Reportedly, on a tip-off, DSP CIA Imran Abbas Chadhar and his team established a check point on GT Road and during checking they seized opium and charas from a vehicle and arrested seven accused, including three women. A case was registered against accused Farzana, Abida, Irfan, Tanvir, Mudassar and others.
