KARACHI: Pakistan’s tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and his Swedish partner Robert Lindstedt moved into the second round of the US Open on Friday.
The unseeded duo of Aisam and Robert, ranked 47th and 31st, respectively, defeated the unseeded pair of Carlos Berlocq of Argentina and Albert Ramos-Vinolas of Spain 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of this grand slam.
They face 10th seed pair of Henri Kontinen from Finland and John Peers from Australia in the second round.
Aisam has played this event nine times and his best performance was reaching the final in 2010.
