Khattak condemns Mardan suicide attack
Says nation united against terrorism
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Friday condemned the act of terrorism in Mardan and said the nation is united against terrorism.
“We have succeeded in our struggle and it will continue till the total elimination of terrorism,” he said while talking to the media after enquiring after those injured in the suicide attack at District courts of Mardan.
He visited Mardan Medical Complex along with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. He also accompanied Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan to District Headquarters Hospital in Mardan.
The chief minister along with Imran Khan also visited District Kutchehry Mardan, met the lawyer community and expressed their sympathies with them. Provincial Ministers Muhammad Atif Khan, Shahram Khan Tarakai and MPAs also present there.
Talking to the media, the chief minister said the people and police fully supported the elimination of terrorism. “The security forces, police and the people were on the same page for the establishment of peace and elimination of terrorism from the country,” he added.
The chief minister praised the performance of the police and security forces for foiling the possible incident of terrorism in Peshawar. Pervez Khattak along with the Army chief and provincial ministers offered Namaz-e-Janaza of policemen who lost lives in act of terrorism in Mardan. Later, the chief minister visited the residence of politician Arshad Khan who died in the Mardan suicide attack.
