The recovery of dead bodies from near the Mauripur Truck Stand area continued on Friday as yet another young man – at least the fourth corpse since August – was found dumped in the same area. Separately, another man alleged to be a criminal was also found dead in Korangi.

The body found in Mauripur had been dumped in a drain near KPT Gate No 1 and was taken to the Civil Hospital, where a medico-legal officer confirmed that the corpse was at least four days old. The medic said the body bore torture marks and the victim had been shot thrice in the chest.

On August 12, a decomposing bullet-riddled body of an unidentified man appearing to be 30 years old was found from the same drain, located within the Mauripur police limits. Limbs tied with a rope, the body was, according to a CHK MLO, at least three days old, and had torture marks on his body; three bullet wounds were found on his chest.

A day before that, two bullet-riddled bodies, appearing to be of the same age group, were found from the same area.

In Korangi No 3, the body of 35-year-old Muhammad Aslam was found near Coast Guard Road. It was shifted to the JPMC where a MLO confirmed he had been shot twice; once in the head and another bullet to his back.

According to Zaman Town SHO Raheem Khan, the victim had a criminal record and had most likely been killed execution-style by his associates.
