Criminal killed in ‘encounter’

BAHAWALPUR: A gangster was killed in a reported police encounter in the area of Ahmadpur Lammah police station near Sadiqabad on Wednesday.

Criminal Hussain Bukhsh Kosh was wanted in dozens of heinous crimes by Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad and Sindh police.

According to DPO Rahim Yar Khan spokesman, Kosh and his four accomplices snatched a motorcycle from a man and Sadiqabad circle police chased them and he was shot dead in the encounter with police and his accomplices managed to escape.

BVH STAFFERS DISCHARGED: Two staffers of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) were discharged from isolation on Wednesday.

Zafar Ali, operation theater assistant, and Muhammad Atiq, paramedic, were in the isolation over suspicion of Congo virus.

While PCR test of 10 senior professor doctors of BVH has been declared negative by the National Health Institute Islamabad and the PCR test reports are received by the BVH authorities.

BVH focal person and director Emergency Ward Dr Aamer Mehmood Bukhari told reporters that PCR test of the doctors were sent because they treated Dr Alam, who was declared Congo positive by Agha Khan Hospital, Karachi.

Bukhari said the situation in the BVH is under control and all precautionary measures are being adopted against the Congo virus and now all wards and operation theaters were cleared after fumigation.
