Says Turkish president wishes uninterrupted democracy in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the act of Turkish people to foil conspiracy against democracy will be remembered for years.
Exclusively talking with The News, Shahbaz referred to his visit to Turkey saying that he liked how Turkish people foiled coup attempt. He said following verse can depict truly the situation of Turkey: Toofan Kar Raha Tha Mere Azam Ka Tawaaf; Dunya Samajh Rahi thi Kashti Bhanwar Mein Hai. He said, “I have returned from my fruitful visit of Turkey but I'm still feeling the moments of love which I got there.”
He said the Turkish people foiled conspiracy against democracy and gave the message to the world that democracy is the best way of government. He said his meeting with the Turkish president was pleasant as the president was wearing a green tie with white shirt, showing his love for Pakistan's flag and the people of Pakistan.
He said it was a splendid sign of his love for the leadership and people of Pakistan. Similarly, the assurance of cooperation with Pakistan, especially Punjab, by the Turkish prime minister during a meeting is also precious asset of his pleasant memories, he said.
The Turkish prime minister, during the meeting, called the health minister and directed him to extend all-out cooperation for improvement of healthcare system in Punjab, advising him that he should do it as if doing a project for Turkey.
Although he has returned to Pakistan, his heart still goes back to the spirit of love of Turk sisters and brothers, he added. Shahbaz said the Turkish president has good sentiments for Pakistan and wished democracy in Pakistan continue without any disruption. He said the Turkish president gave surety to CM that Turkey would continue supporting Punjab province in health sector and that his heart still beats for the people of Pakistan.
