LAHORE: Dr Tahirul Qadri is one of the most famous Islamic scholars in the world and wherever he travels, the host country provides him with Z+ (highest level of) security.
This was claimed by Pakistan Awami Tehreek Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur while reacting to a defaming campaign against PAT chairman. He said the federal government is behind the dirty campaign. He said that was only being done to damage the reputation by saying unpleasant things about Dr Qadri which were wrong.
Gandapur said that Dr Tahirul Qadri was also known for his bold, strong and firm commitment for the elimination of terrorism and extremism from the world and specially Pakistan. He said Dr Qadri had never protested the lower level of security but always thanked the host nation for the facilities he was given.
He said that in 2010, Dr Tahirul Qadri gave the world a comprehensive anti-terrorism agenda to wipe out extremism and terrorism from the face of the earth. He said in the same context Dr Qadri visited India and at that time the Congress Party was in power. He said an armed group attacked the car of Dr Qadri and thereafter the Indian government raised the level of security and gave Dr Qadri fool-proof and Z+ security. He said the PAT leader visited eight states in India and wherever he went he was accorded top security and the finest hospitality.
Gandapur said Dr Qadri had been given the top protocol and security according to his status during his visits to US, Europe, Africa, United Nations and UNESCO. He said during his visit to South Africa the prime minister himself came to welcome Dr Tahirul Qadri in Durbin and in other countries’ head of states had come to welcome Dr Qadri. He said when Dr Qadri went to Indian Gujarat, he protested at the incidents in Gujarat in which many Muslims were killed.
Meanwhile, a PAT spokesman said the government knew that it could not escape punishment for the killings in the Model Town incident and that is why it has started a smear campaign against the PAT leader. The rulers knew that they would have to pay Qisas for the blood they had shed in the Model Town tragedy.
