SUKKUR: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, on Friday said he will make a new Sindh and not a new province, adding that Rangers are performing the job of politicians in the province. He lashed out at the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Talking to media persons in Dahariki at the house of PTI Sindh Chapter leader Nadir Akmal Khan, he alleged that Asif Ali Zardari and Altaf Hussain had divided the people of Sindh on the basis of ethnicity – between Sindhis and Mohajirs.
He said that there was an apparent tug of war between the MQM and PPP for power yet they were allies. He said one leader stays in London and Dubai and the other has been in London for over 20 years.
He said these parties had created their vote bank in the province by spreading hatred among the people. The PTI chairman said Karachi cannot be separated from Sindh.
Imran announced that his party’s alliance will be with the poor people of Sindh. He said he will reach out to all corners of Sindh to mobilise the people. He remarked that future of the PPP was dark. “The PPP has ideological workers’ support but Zardari has ruined the party,” he alleged.
“Even the military dictators did not damage the PPP as much as Zardari did,” he said. He said that like ZA Bhutto, he will strengthen the working class and his visit to Sindh was aimed at ridding the people of Sindh from corruption.
He said the people of Sindh in 1988 voted Benazir Bhutto into power and they will give his party the same victory in the forthcoming general elections, because they hope that PTI will take them away from rotten politicians.
He said no can stop the revolution of change. He said that people of Sindh are happy with the action of Rangers because they are eliminating criminals, extortionists, land grabbers, target killers and corrupt mafia.
He said the PPP, MQM and PML-N were behind the unrest. He asked Zardari why his government did not initiate any move against corruption of the PML-N. He said now Zardari was crying when the NAB and FIA had launched an operation against mafia. He said Zardari had cooperated with Nawaz Sharif and did not take up cases of his corruption but the latter had refused to return the favour.
He said the PTI was determined to strengthen the institutions. He said the rulers had made money in Sindh, selling jobs even in the police department. He said PTI has focused on the poor and youth instead of big names, adding that no big name of Sindh had yet joined the PTI.
