PTI to step up drive against corruption after Sept 3: Qureshi
LAHORE: PTI senior vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said no attempt to save the rulers from accountability will succeed and those found involved in plundering the national exchequer would be brought to book.
Talking to the media on Sunday, Shah Mehmood Qureshi alleged that the leaders of ruling PML-N were making all out efforts to save the rulers from being held accountable after revelations in Panama Leaks.
He said the PTI will accelerate its movement for accountability of corrupt politicians after September 3 and other opposition parties are also ready to take to streets along with PTI for the purpose. He blamed that the PML-N instead of preferring the national interests and fulfilling the aspirations of the masses, who elected it with heavy mandate, was engaged in securing party and personal interests of the party leaders which was not in favour of the country and people as well.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi warned that the PML-N had to face dire consequences if it did not change its strategy of preferring personal interests. He said the PTI in collaboration with the opposition parties and the masses will continue its constitutional and democratic struggle for accountability of corrupt rulers and recovering the looted national wealth.
