Alleged militant arrested in Mardan
MARDAN: The police here on Saturday claimed to have arrested an alleged militant and recovered two hand-grenades from him, an official said.
Station House Officer (SHO) Saro Shah Police Station Gohar Taj said the police was informed that the militants were planning to carry out an act of sabotage.
He said that an alert was issued and the police established checkpoints on various entry and exit points to Takht Bhai.
He said that the police arrested a suspected person, Saleh Hayat alias Haider, from near the Jehazono Dag on Charsadda-Rajar road. He said that the police recovered two hand-grenades and other important documents from him.
He said the arrested militant revealed in the preliminary investigation that he was tasked with targeting the police patrol party in Saro Shah.
