ABBOTTABAD: District Drug Control Authority here on Friday registered a case against the medical director of Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad after recovery of expired medicines from the casualty ward of hospital.
Abbottabad Drug Inspector, Syed Aqib Ali Shah, alongwith Sohail Khan, additional secretary health, and Muhammad Ibrahim, deputy secretary drugs, paid a surprise visit to different wards of the Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad. During the inspection drug inspector recovered expired injection of a life-saving drug from the medicine tray of the casualty ward.
A case under Drug Act 1976 was registered against the medical director of the hospital.The official also took seven suspected drugs samples from private pharmacy of Ayub Medical Complex inside hospital for test and analysis.
