Man ‘poisoned’ by his in-laws in Sukkur
SUKKUR: A man, Kamran Larik, who had allegedly been poisoned by his in-laws, died
in a Larkana hospital on Thursday. He, along with his wife, had been admitted there on Wednesday.
Larik’s wife, who had also been allegedly poisoned along with her husband by her own parents, managed to survive. Sources said that as soon as she regained consciousness, she made a statement to the police, accusing her parents of giving poison to her and to her husband.
It has been said that the girl’s parents had been enraged over her decision to marry the boy of her choice without her parents consent. Sources said that the couple soon after their wedding earlier this month had escaped anticipating the fury of their parents, but the girl’s parents deceptively convinced the couple that they could come back, and no harm would be done to them. The couple thought that the assurance was genuine and returned to their parents. Meanwhile, Khairpur Police have arrested two men in the case.
