Overseas stations
A large number of Pakistanis are living as immigrants in a number of countries and are sending huge amounts of remittances back home to their families. They may or may not have problems in these foreign countries but they do face many problems back home in the districts and provinces they belong to. Keeping this in mind, the Punjab government had set up an autonomous Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab some time back so that overseas Pakistanis’ problems are addressed and solved as quickly as possible.
According to reports, Punjab CM has said that one-window stations will be set up in districts of the province from where a larger number of people have gone abroad. At these stations, desks of different institutions will be set up to provide relief and assistance to overseas Pakistanis and resolve their problems under one roof in the shortest possible time. Besides this, the provincial government will be contacting the Lahore High Court for consideration of setting up separate courts for cases involving overseas Pakistanis for swift decisions. Both these announcements are commendable.
