Man injures wife for refusing to give money

GUJRANWALA: A woman was allegedly tortured by her husband for not giving money to him at Dhulley on Wednesday.

Accused Waseem and Faiza had contracted marriage some seven years ago. Waseem was not doing any job or business to run his home while Faiza with the help of her brothers was running the home. On the day of the incident, Waseem demanded money from Faiza and when she refused to give money to him, the accused allegedly beat her with the help of an iron rode. As a result, she was seriously injured and rushed to a hospital.

MAN HELD: An FIA team on Wednesday arrested a man for running currency exchange business illegally.

The FIA team headed by Inspector M Sajjad raided and arrested Khawar Riaz of Lalamusa. The team also recovered foreign currency from him.

 

Member of banned organisation remanded

GUJRANWALA: The Anti-Terrorist Court on Wednesday granted seven-day physical remand of an alleged member of banned organisation.

The CTD had arrested Wilayat and recovered two hand-grenades from him on Tuesday.

 

Man thrashed by DHQ Hospital security guards

GUJRANWALA: An attendant of a patient was allegedly thrashed by the security guards of the DHQ Hospital here on Wednesday.

Tariq of Kangniwala was trying to enter in the ward to provide medicines for his under treatment son but security guards stopped him and allegedly thrashed him after exchanging harsh words with him.
