17 govt depts get notices for not paying Fesco dues

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) on Wednesday issued final notices to 17 government departments for not paying their pending dues.
According to a spokesman for the Fesco, if these departments did not clear their long-standing dues, their electricity would be disconnected. He said that these government departments were defaulters of Rs 130 million and despite repeated reminders they did not bother to clear these dues. Now the heads of these government departments had been asked to clear their pending electricity bills within the given period otherwise the company would be forced to disconnect their connections, he added. The defaulters government departments included Wasa, Prisons Department, Punjab police, Punjab Agriculture Department, Punjab Scarp Department, Livestock and Dairy Department, Bhakkar district government, Sargodha district government, Tehsil Headquarter Sargodha, TMA Samundri, TMA Toba Tek Singh, TMA Gojra, TMA Sargodha, TMA Khushab, TMA Mianwali and TMA Isakhel, the spokesman added. He told that Fesco CEO Engineer Rashid Ahmad Aslam had issued special instructions to the chief commercial officer of the company to ensure recovery of Rs 130 million pending dues within the stipulated period.
