DI Khan districtcouncil session postponed
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The district council’s session was postponed for an indefinite period as the treasury and opposition leaders engaged in brawl on Tuesday.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leaders pointed out lack of quorum in the house which led to brawl between the treasury and opposition members.The council members threw chairs at each other while some opposition members broke the table of the convener.
The people present in the gallery also engaged in fist-fight. Assistant Commissioner, Dera Ismail Khan, reached the house after the incident.
The session was stopped for some time and an eight-member committee was constituted, which would make rules for the council’s meeting in future.Members of both sides agreed to avoid such situation in future. The convener postponed the council meeting for an indefinite period.
