SWABI: A 12-year-old child was stoned to death by unidentified persons in the mountainous terrain of Saleem Khan here on Wednesday, said police.
Zarwali Khan, father of the slain child, who lives in Kaglach village in the Saleem Khan area, told reporters that his son left home for the nearby Madrassa but was targetted by unidentified people before reaching there.
He said the family looked for the child, Jalal Khan, when he didn’t return home. He said his body was found in the nearby mountain known as Suri Ghar. “He was stoned to death as there were signs of injuries on his body,” Zarwali added.
The father said he didn’t know as to who had killed his minor son and why. However, a police official said it seemed the child had some information about some illegal activities either in his family or in the neighbourhood and that could be the reason for his death.
