Says Nawaz, army chief meetings on terrorism remained meaningless
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) and MNA Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said that thieves and looters who occupied the government have tarnished the respect of the country and the incompetent ministers fail to face MNAs and therefore, National Assembly always lacked quorum even during one-hour session.
While addressing a public meeting outside Lal Havaili on the occasion of Independence Day on Saturday night, the AML chief said that 75 meetings were held between Nawaz Sharif and army chief on different issues including terrorism but proved meaningless. He said that attacks in Peshawar and Quetta take place whenever the plan to launch campaign came under discussion.
Sheikh Rasheed said that Mian Sehab and his family were caught red-handed in PanamaLeaks but no result came out despite holding of six meetings to form ToRs on it. He asked what kind of revenge Nawaz Sharif wanted to take from citizens by stopping his projects and by handing over Rawalpindi to drug mafia.
He said that nowadays Tehreek-e-Eitasab and Terheek-e-Qisas were going on but they would launch Tehreek-e-Nijat which would be started today. He said that some opportunists sitting in our assemblies criticised sensitive institutions of the country and if anyone had criticised RAW in the Indian assembly, he would have to face the music and the nation would carry out strict accountability of such opportunists. He also strongly criticised the Punjab government on the kidnapping of over 600 children.
Sheikh Rasheed said that the Punjab government had used negative tactics to stop holding of meeting outside Lal Havaili. He said that he had been celebrating Independence Day for last 40 years and holding meetings. He said that they were peaceful people and there was no charge of holding two ton ephedrine quota and they did not attack police stations. He said that the government was exposing itself rapidly. He said that a reference would be filed with NA Speaker against Nawaz Sharif on Monday.
AML chief said that Nawaz Sharif was doing politics for his own personality and not for the country. He said that PTI was an allied party and he hoped that it would carry out all work amicably. Sheikh Rashid threatened that all would submit resigns if the Speaker disqualified Imran Khan.
