Girl strangled by father for ‘honour’

BAHAWALPUR: An 18-year-old girl was strangled by her father for ‘honour’ at Basti Panoohan on Wednesday.
Accused Muhammad Bilal had doubted on the character of his daughter Khadeja. On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly strangled her. Later, he called Sadar police and showed that his daughter had committed suicide. The police shifted the body to the BVH for post-mortem. However, accused Bilal confessed to his crime.
6 held for killing CTD ASI

BAHAWALPUR: The CTD on Wednesday arrested six suspects from Hatheji on the charge of allegedly killing CTD ASI Allah Ditta near Khanqah Sharif three days ago.
The arrested persons are Sadiq, three brothers, Zafar, Arshad and Muhammad Mushtaq, Shabbir and Jameel. Further investigations n are underway.
