Lawyers continue boycott of courts over Quetta killings
PESHAWAR: Lawyers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday continued boycott of courts to protest the target killing of Balochistan Bar Association president Bilal Anwar Kasi and the subsequent suicide bombing at the Civil Hospital, Quetta.
Like other districts of the province, the lawyers in Peshawar observed complete boycott of courts from the Peshawar High Court and subordinate courts in the provincial capital. On the call of KP Bar Council and Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA), the lawyers would also observe a complete boycott of courts today (Thursday).
A delegation of lawyers’ leaders from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also visited the Balochistan Bar Association, Quetta. The delegation visited Balochistan under the head of KP Bar Council vice-president Tariq Afridi.
The delegation included KP Bar Council members Ijaz Khan Sabi, Razaullah Khan, PHCBA president Muzzamil Khan and others. The courts presented a deserted look as the lawyers stayed away from courts for the second consecutive day.
