Govt has overcome energy crisis, terrorism to greater extent: minister

HAFIZABAD: State Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar has said that merit, transparency and honesty are hallmark of the PML-N government.
Inaugurating a newly-established Model Bazaar here on Monday, she said that the people had rejected Dharna politics of PTI chief Imran Khan and other opposition parties. He said that the people had reposed their confidence on the government in the local government and Azad Kashmir elections. She said that Imran Khan was utilising negative tactics to derail democracy in the country. The minister said that dream of progress and prosperity could not be fulfilled without providing infrastructure and therefore, the present government was focusing on provision of infrastructure throughout the country. She said that the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was committed to make the country an Asian tiger. Due to result-oriented measures taken by the government, the country economy was improving day-by-day while the government had overcome energy crisis and terrorism to a greater extent, she added. She claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would win the 2018 general elections on the basis of their performance.
She further claimed that more than Rs 1 billion had been spent on the health sector in the district. About 32 doctors were serving in the district headquarters hospital while the rural health centres and the basic health units were working properly, she said, adding that all possible healthcare facilities were available in the hospitals. She said that more than Rs 1.90 billion had been spent to establish new schools and provision of missing facilities in the existing schools in the district. She said that the Punjab government had accorded approval for reconstructing Hafizabad-Kolo Tarar Road and Hafizabad-Vaneki Road and work on the projects would begin soon.
Speaking on the ceremony, MNA Muhammad Afzal Khokhar said that the Punjab government was committed to provide basic amenities of life to the people at their doorsteps. He said that the Punjab government was establishing Model Bazaars at the district level to provide cheap and quality commodities to the people. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would continue to deliver the nation despite the hurdles being created by PTI chief Imran Khan.
MPA Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan, in his address, said that business activities would improve in the city with the establishment of Model Bazaar.
DO (Coordination) Ramiza Husnain, ADCG Noman Hafeez, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Amjad Ali Sheikh and others were also present.
