The Khans
Khizr and Ghazala Khan, the parents of Captain Humayun Khan, a fallen Muslim-American who died in Iraq in 2004 while saving the lives of his fellow American soldiers, have earned more honour for their courage by participating in the Democratic National Congress. Khizr Khan electrified the delegates at the DNC by his speech while his wife stood by his side bravely in graceful silence. She was so overwhelmed by her grief that she did not speak. But Khizr Khan spoke and spoke so well that he received a standing ovation.
Khan questioned Trump’s credibility by asking if he had ever read the US constitution which guarantees freedom, liberty and equality to all Americans. This gold star family originated from Pakistan. We should be proud of them.
