GUJRANWALA: Locals were robbed of cash and valuables in different incidents here.
At Tatle Wali, gunmen barged into the house of Akbar and took away cash, 20 tola gold, four cell phones and other valuables. Rizwan Cheema was deprived of Rs 40,000 and two cell phones in Tatle Wali. At Ferozwala, robbers intercepted Hashim and his wife and snatched Rs 25,000, gold ornaments and a cellphone. Ibrahim and his wife were intercepted by gunmen at Eminabad and were deprived of gold ornaments, Rs 32,000 and three cellphones. At Alipur Chattha, bandits deprived Farhan of Rs 40,000 and two cellphones. Moeez was intercepted in the limits of Sadr police station Gujranwala and was deprived of Rs 21,000 and a cell phone. In Sadr Wazirabad police area, gunmen snatched a new motorcycle and Rs 12,000 from Abu Bakr. Tufail was deprived of new motorcycle and Rs 4,000 by dacoits in Satellite Town. On Jinnah Road, Shahbaz was deprived of Rs 6,000 and a cell phone by robbers. Ashir was intercepted by gunmen in Peoples Colony and was deprived of Rs 11,000 and a cell phone. Gunmen snatched car (LRP-1032) from Munir and motorcycle (GAM-4436) from Jabbar in People’s Colony. Thieves took away valuables from the houses of Yasin, Abdul Rauf, Asghar, Iqbal and Hassan.
INFANT DROWNS: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy drowned in a bucket of water on Jinnah Road on Saturday. Reportedly, infant Haider Ali was playing at home when suddenly he fell in to a bucket and drowned.
MOTORCYCLIST DIES: A motorcyclist died in a road accident on GT Road here.
Reportedly, Luqman, 22, was riding a motorcycle near Kotli Pir Ahmad Shah, when he hit a donkey cart and received critical injuries. He was rushed to the DHQ Hospital where he died.
