Pakistan Open Marathon in Quetta on Aug 7
KARACHI: Hundreds of athletes will participate in the first ever Pakistan Open Marathon, a part of the third Balochistan Sports Festival, which commences in Quetta on August 7.
The Festival is being organised by the Balochistan government in collaboration with the Southern Command.
Giving details of the Marathon, Pakistan Athletic Federation president Major General (retd) Akram Sahi informed the media on Friday that the winner would be awarded a cash prize of Rs300,000, while Rs200,000 will be given to the second-position holder. The cash prize for the third position will be Rs100,000. He added that cash prizes of Rs10,000 each will be given to the next top ten athletes.
He said the Marathon would start from Quetta airport and end at Ayub Stadium. “The marathon will send a strong message across the country that Balochistan is a peaceful province.”
