Locals robed of cash, valuables

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in various incidents in different areas of Gujranwala on Wednesday.
Robbers snatched Rs 32,000, a gold chain and a cell phone from Husnain at Alipur Chattha.
At Ladhewala Warriach, bandits snatched Rs 16,000 and a cell phone from Asif.
Naveed was robbed of Rs 33,000 and a cell phone by dacoits at Tatley Wali.
At Nowshera Virkan, armed men intercepted Abdul Hamid and his wife and snatched gold ornaments, Rs 38,000 and two cell phones.
Robbers snatched Rs 22,000 and two cell phones from Imran in Sadar Kamoke police limits.
At Sohdra, gunmen snatched new motorcycle from Dastgir.
Adil’s new motorcycle was snatched by robbers in Sabzi Mandi area.
In Wazirabad Sadar police area, thieves rustled 14 of Murtaza.
Thieves took away cash, gold ornaments and valuables from the house of Abdul Hameed and Akbar in Tatley Wali.
New motorcycles of Yaqub, Shahbaz, Idrees and Jabbar were stolen from various parts of the city.
DESILTING OF NULLAH AIK ORDERED: Additional Commissioner (coordination) Gujranwala Division Shahzad Ahmed Wednesday asked the relevant authorities to complete desilting of Nullah Aik before the start of monsoon.
In a video link conference with additional chief secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmed Khawaja, he said the desilting of Nullah is necessary to save Sialkot city from flood water.
Shahzad said the district administration has already been directed to remove encroachments at Nullah Aik. He said a committee would also point out illegal housing societies around the Nullah.
