Man kills wife over minor issue

HAFIZABAD: A man murdered his wife over a minor issue at Pindi Bhattian on Tuesday.

Shahbaz Baloch contracted marriage with Amira Bibi some years ago. Later, differences arose between the couple. On the day of the incident, the couple exchanged hot words with each other over a minor issue. Later, Shahbaz allegedly shot his wife dead. Police have registered a case and started investigation.

 

Minister suspends Gepco Sukheke

sub-division staff on public complaints

HAFIZABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has said that bold steps are being taken to eradicate corruption from the Wapda.

He was talking to newsmen during his surprise visits to Jalalpur grid station and Pindi Bhattian on Tuesday. He said that steps were also being taken to remove grievances of the consumers. He said that the government was striving hard to eliminate loadshedding from the country.

Later, the minister listened to the public complaints and ordered suspension of all staff of Gepco Sukheke sub-division. He also suspended two employees, including Zahid, at Jalalpur Bhattian on the charge of corruption. He admonished the Gepco officers on complaints of overbilling and directed them to rectify the inflated bills immediately. He warned that such complaints would not be tolerated in future and officers responsible for it would be suspended.

 

Gain tax rejected

HAFIZABAD: Property Dealers Association president Syed Usman Shah and Ashtam Frosh Union president Basharat Ali have rejected imposition of gain tax on sale of property.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, they said that the imposition of gain tax would affect their business. They have demanded the government withdraw the gain tax otherwise they would be forced to come on roads.
