FAISALABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf district president Rana Ahmad Raheel Minhas has quit the party against domination of affluent people in the party and ignoring true and patriotic party workers.

In a statement here on Monday, he alleged that PTI founder chairman Imran Khan was attaching great importance to the capitalists and those having their own helicopters. He said that Imran Khan had been de-tracked by these affluent elements. He said that these moneyed people had earlier deserted the PML-N and the PPP. He alleged that the PTI had virtually become a party of big financers.

 

Long march for LHC benches on Sept 22

FAISALABAD: The Joint Action Committee of presidents of Faisalabad, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Dera Ghazi Khan bar associations met under the chairmanship of Faisalabad DBA Qaisar Nazir Sahi here on Monday. The meeting decided to stage a long march from Faisalabad to Lahore on September 22 against lukewarm attitude of the Punjab government regarding establishment of the LHC court benches in the five divisions of the province. According to DBA secretary Azhar Hanif Khan, the next meeting of the Joint Action Committee would be held in Faisalabad on August 8 to frame modalities and line of action to press their genuine demand. Meanwhile, as per decision of the Joint Action Committee, lawyers of the five divisions would observe complete strike on every Thursday and Friday. They would also set up hunger strike camps.

 

Woman killed over money dispute

FAISALABAD: A union council vice-chairman’s sister was killed over a money dispute here.

Kausar Bibi, sister of Chak 134 UC Vice-Chairman Azim Loona, was allegedly gunned down by Saeed Ahmad and his accomplices. Police are investigating.
