Police fail to nab main accused

BAHAWALPUR: Rahimyar Khan police raided a house at Trust Colony, Bahawalpur, to arrest main accused in the Rahimyar Khan private torture cell case, Kamran Shah alias Kami Shah, on Friday.
However, no arrest was made. When contacted, a spokesman for the DPO said the SHO Cantt had no knowledge of the raid. RPO Dr Ehsan Sadiq said three accused Shahid, Naz and Hashim had been arrested and efforts were under way to nab main accused Kami Shah.
Meanwhile, 10 FIRs have been registered against Kami Shah in different police stations of Rahimyar Khan on the charges of attempt to murder, firing and torturing men and women.
Youth dies ‘unattended’ at Chishtian hospital

BAHAWALPUR: Residents of Noorpura, Chishtian, staged a demonstration after the death of a youth due to the alleged absence of doctors at the THQ hospital on Friday.
The protesters raised slogans against the THQ hospital doctors and demanded action against them. They said that Ramzan (17) was brought to the hospital in an unconscious condition after he fell into a drain. Ramzan died unattended as there was no doctor on duty, they alleged.
