Promotion notification stopped

JHANG: Taking notice of a complaint, TMO Najaf Shah vide order No-295 has directed the office superintendent to stop issuance of promotion notification for the post of head clerk.
He also ordered him to re-examine promotion case of clerical staff, which was approved by him (TMO) and the administrator.
Earlier, TMA senior clerks Sadaqat Javed, Ali Muhammad, Arshad Elahi, Adnan Gulzar and two others, through a combined application, pointed out that according to the latest notification of the Punjab Local Government Department, senior clerks (BPS-14) would be promoted and posted against the post of head clerk (BPS-16). They said that the TMA office superintendent had managed to get the promotion summary approved in favour of a junior clerk (BPS-10) for the head clerk post. They said that a senior clerk, who was on top of the seniority list, should be promoted as the head clerk.
When contacted, TMA Administrator Awais Malik said that he had directed to review the promotion file in the light of the policy guidelines of the government. He said that the officials proposed and processed the promotion case against the rules would face music.
