Two POs killed in Multan encounter

MULTAN: A joint team of Muzaffargarh and Multan police killed two proclaimed offenders in an encounter near Jaleebi Morr on Multan Public School Road on Wednesday morning. Muzaffargarh and Multan Bahauddin Zakariya police, on a tip-off, raided a hideout near Jaleebi Morr to arrest the Lakha gang members Zulfi Qureshi and Shakil Dasti. Seeing police, Zulfiqar and Shakil along with their accomplices Lakha Bak, Qaisri Gormani, Qari Tariq, Arshad Baloch, Shahzad Sandeela and Mujtaba alias Shaka opened fire on them. Police also retaliated. As a result, Qari Tariq and Zulfiqar were killed on the spot while the others fled. Further investigation is under way.
