Two Gepco linemen electrocuted in Sialkot

SIALKOT: Two Gepco linemen were electrocuted while another sustained serious burns near Kharana Stop on Sialkot-Kingra Road in Sadr police limits on Wednesday.
Linemen Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Aslam and Assistant Lineman Muhammad Ashfaq were busy repairing a transformer when suddenly they received electric shocks. As a result, Arif and Ashfaq were killed on the spot while Aslam received serious burns. The injured man was shifted to a hospital by Rescue 1122.
BORDER CROSSER HELD: The Chenab Rangers arrested a border crosser, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, Waris, a resident of Chak Mir near Zafarwal (Narowal district), was arrested by the Rangers when he was illegally crossing the Sialkot Working Boundary near Akhnur area. The accused was later handed over to Sabzpir police. A case has been registered.
