Candid Khattak

This refers to the news story, ‘Khattak’s statement is an admission of PTI’s failure: Zahid Khan’ (July 25). Pervaiz Khattak deserves tributes for admitting that the PTI could not deliver what was promised. Speaking truth in a political culture of hypocrisy and double talk is indeed rare. In fact, Pervaiz Khattak exhibited humility by keeping silent on certain achievements of his government such as the efforts to depoliticise the police.

There is no quick fix for deep-rooted complex problems. Promising change in an emotional tone may not immediately translate into action without firm, relentless and time-bound efforts.
