Qadri due tomorrow
LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Tahirul Qadri will be arriving at the Lahore airport on Wednesday (tomorrow).
The PAT chairman will chair the Central Executive Committee meeting on 29th in which important decisions are likely to be made. All the district presidents of the party will also be attending the meeting.
The meeting will also review the arrangements for the July 31 national consultative meeting in which leaders of the opposition parties will be attending and will also be deciding the future line of action with regard to countrywide protests for seeking justice for the Model Town martyrs.
Talking to central leaders of the party from Glasgow, the PAT chairman said: “We have been running from pillar to post in search of justice for the martyrs of the Model Town incident and have knocked at every door of the justice system in the country, but all in vain”.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said: “Our battle continues and we take all steps necessary to remove these rulers and corrupt system and above all get justice for the martyrs of the Model town tragedy”.
The PAT chief said the rights of the poor are being usurped and are being subjected to the worst kind of state-sponsored terrorism, where police kill innocent people as, when and how the rulers desire.
He alleged that NAB has given a clean chit to the prime minister who had earlier confessed to his crimes in a written statement. He said neither has the NAB chairman given a satisfactory reply to the allegation leveled against him. He said it is imperative that the country gets a ruthless accountability law and system.
