Woman, son burnt to death due to electric shock

JHANG: A woman and her son were burnt to death due to an electric shock they received from high transmission lines at Jabbar Nagar on Saturday.
Ten-year-old Abdullah was playing on the roof of his house when he received an electric shock from 11kw transmission line of the Fesco. On his cry, his mother Khalida rushed to save her son but she also received an electric shock. As a result, they were burnt to death. Rescue 1122 staffers shifted the bodies to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the family members demanded action against the Fesco officials for their alleged negligence for not shifting the high transmission lines from a residential locality despite repeated complaints.
The paramedics, police and bereaved family were waiting for the arrival of an on-duty woman medical officer for conducting an autopsy till the filing of the report.
