Karachi: Belgium defeated Pakistan 4-2 in the four-nation junior hockey tournament in Hanover, Germany on Saturday.
Pakistan kept a 2-0 lead until the second quarter but Belgium fought back as their forwards started attacking aggressively. They scored a goal in the third quarter to make it 2-1 before stunning Pakistan in the last quarter to finish with 4-2.
The Pakistan junior team’s poor goalkeeping and weak defense contributed much towards their defeat. Had Green-shirts won the match, they would have finished second in the tournament. Bilal Qadir and Samiullah netted one goal each for Pakistan.
