Rs20.58 billion CDGF budget approved

FAISALABAD: City District Government Faisalabad Administrator/DCO Salman Ghani has approved Rs 20.508 billion budget for the City District Government Faisalabad for fiscal year 2016/17.
He gave the approval during a meeting at the DCO Office Committee Room here. The DCO said that expected income was Rs 1,643.8 million while Rs 726.8 million had been allocated for ongoing development schemes and Rs 129.77 million for new development schemes. He said that a sum of Rs 792.272 million was expected to be spent under the Punjab City Governance Improvement Programme. The DCO said that improvement of health facilities and rehabilitation of health institutions in the district was a priority of the CDGF. The DCO said that 100 per cent increase had been made in budget to purchase air conditioners for the THQ Hospitals. He said that the Civil Defence Department had been equipped with the most advanced machinery and its budget had been enhanced up to 386 per cent. He said that a sum of Rs 34.450 million had been allocated for purchase of modern machinery and utility transport to enable the Civil Defence to meet rescue challenges on the modern lines. The DCO expressed his commitment for durable and rapid development of the district.
ANTI-DENGUE DAY: On the directions of the Punjab government, an anti-dengue day will be observed here today.
The district administration has chalked out elaborated programmes to observe the anti-dengue day in an effective manner. In this regard, an awareness seminar will be arranged by the Health Department at Lyallpur Complex. DCO Salman Ghani will chair it.
After the seminar, an awareness walk will be arranged from Lyallpur Complex up to GTS Chowk for mobilising the people against dengue. Similar programmes will also be arranged by the Social Welfare Department, the Cooperatives Department, the Wasa, the FDA, government hospitals, the Environment Department, the Civil Defence, the Faisalabad Arts Council and the Auqaf Department.
The educational institutions will be opened especially for observance of the anti-dengue day and awareness seminars/walks will be held in schools, colleges and universities, besides carrying out cleanliness. Meanwhile, the banners carrying dengue awareness message have been displayed at important roads, intersections, parks, bus stands, railway stations and other public places by the TMAs.
