CHARSADDA: A police constable died during an encounter with wanted outlaws in Nisatta area of the district, official sources said.
They said Constable Khadim Hussain died during a police raid in Tauheedabad area in Nisatta when wanted outlaws including Shoaib and his accomplices opened fire at the police.
Sources said that police had received a tip-off about the presence of wanted criminal Shoaib and his accomplices at a house in Tauheedabad. “The police raided the house owned by one Bakhtiar but the outlaws fired at them as soon as they reached the residence, critically injuring Constable Khadim Hussain,” an official said.
He added that the wounded cop was shifted to a hospital in Charsadda where he succumbed to his injuries. Later, the body was shifted to the Police Lines in Charsadda where funeral prayer for the deceased was offered.
Afterwards the body was handed over to the relatives for burial. The deceased was buried at his ancestral graveyard in Tarnab village.
Khadim Hussain has left behind a widow and four sons. Police arrested the owner of the house Bakhtiar and his son Athar on the charges of harbouring outlaws.
