Health dept given anti-adulteration kits: DCO

BAHAWALPUR: The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Thursday said the health department Bahawalpur has been given anti-adulteration kits to enhance its technical expertise to check adulteration in food stuff.

Talking to reporters at his conference room, the DCO said modern anti-adulteration kits purchased for Rs 237,000 would enable anti-adulteration field staff to conduct chemical test of food stuff particularly milk, ghee, cooking oil and all other food stuff through at six tehsils of the district.

The DCO further revealed that blood collection camps had been established at all six tehsils for medical test of butchers.

Later, deputy district health officer Dr Zeeshan Rauf gave a detailed briefing on operational mechanism of the kits.

The meeting was attended by Director Public Relations & Resident Director Bahawalpur Arts Council Rana Ajaz Mahmood, Additional District Collector Imrana Ajmal, Acting District Officer Co-ordination Rao Tasleem Akhter, District Health Officer Dr Zeeshan Rauf, and others.
