Prisoner dies
LAHORE
A 60-year-old inmate was found dead in the Kot Lakhpat Jail on Wednesday.
The inmate, identified as Muhammad Zaman, had been arrested sometime ago on charges of murder from the Mughalpura police jurisdiction and had been serving a 25 years sentence. He had been suffering from tuberculosis, but police are still investigating the death. The body was shifted to morgue.
Traffic officials: CTO directed all duty officers and ticketing officers to actively make an effort to improve relations between Traffic police and the public. Addressing a meeting held at CTO office on Wednesday, he ordered that all traffic officials must be courteous and helpful to commuters and pedestrians at all times and must proactively facilitate them. He said that trust between law enforcement agencies and the public was necessary for the smooth working of everyday life and strict action would be taken against any traffic officials that were found to be discourteous.
