Citizens robbed of cash, valuables

GUJRANWALA: Citizens were deprived of cash, gold ornaments, vehicles and other valuables in various robbery and theft incidents on Tuesday.
At Ladhewala Warraich, robbers snatched Rs 13,000 and two cell phones from Sohaib.
Iqbal and his wife were robbed of Rs 27,000, gold ornaments and two cell phones in Sohdra. Tauseef and Ansar were deprived of Rs 45,000 and four cell phones also in Sohdra. At Wahndo gunmen took away new motorcycle and Rs 6,000 from Abdullah.
Nadeem and his wife were robbed of Rs 25,000, gold ornaments and a cell phone in Gakhar.
In Sadr police station limits Gujranwala, robbers snatched Rs 17,000 and a cell phone from Tauqeer. Mazhar was deprived of a new motorcycle in Sadr Kamoke area. New motorcycles of Khalil, Azhar and Bilal were stolen from different places of the city.
DEMO OUTSIDE DCO OFFICE: Dozens of women and children Tuesday staged a demonstration outside the DCO office against the occupation of the government land.
The protesters alleged that some influential people had occupied the government land and closed a street in Mujahid Colony causing severe troubles of the residents. They said the AC did not take any action despite court order about opening the street. The DCO assured the protesters an early action.
DIES IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed in a road accident on Tuesday. Ansar, 40, was riding his motorcycle, when he reached near Pindi Bypass a speeding oil tanker hit him, leaving him dead on the spot.
