This refers to claims by Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar that the federal government has reformed the revenue system of the country and brought all major businesses under the tax net and increasedrevenue by billions of rupees. But it is to be noted that the concerned authorities have failed to impose tax on naswar.
Nawar is a common tobacco product used in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in other provinces as well. In Peshawar and other cities and districts of the KP, thousands of plants are producing the product without paying tax or any check and regularisation. As other businesses and corporate sectors pay regular taxes and feed the economy, why is this business is out of the tax net?
