Envoy’s proficiency in Urdu, Hindi surprises locals
LAHORE: French Ambassador to Pakistan Martine Dorance along with her husband visited Mitchell’s Fruit Farms, Renala Khurd, on the special invitation by renowned anchor Jugno Mohsin and the NGO Mohsin Trust.
The French diplomat also visited the Shergarh town to see the historic haveli of Jugno, shrine of Hazrat Syed Daud Bandagi (RA) and the grave of renowned politician from Okara Syed Sajjad Hyder Kirmani.
The local people were also greatly surprised when Dorance talked to them in Hindi and Urdu. The ambassador lauded the community development projects of Jugno and Mohsin Trust, terming these as an important step for public welfare.
She also visited the maternity home which had been allotted by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif through Okara DCO Suqrat Zaman Rana.
The building has been restored at a cost of hundreds of thousands of rupees. Her husband also planted a sampling of magnolia in connection with the tree plantation campaign. Strict security measures were taken on the occasion.
