17 more police stations get front desks

FAISALABAD: Seventeen more front desks have been established in different police stations in the district in the third phase, said CPO Afzal Ahmad Kausar.
Talking to The News here on Friday, he said that the front desks had been established at Jhang Bazaar, Garh, Millat Town, Sahianwala, Sandal Bar, Jaranwala City, Rodala Road, Balochni, Samundri City, Tarkhani, Muridwala, Civil Lines, Mansoorabad, Nishatabad and Madina Town police stations. He said that the front desks would become operational in September and all necessary facilities, including air-conditioners and computers, were being provided by the IGP office.
In the first and second phases, the front desks were established at Rail Bazaar, Kotwali, Batala Colony, Samanabad, Gulberg, Ghulam Muhammadabad, People’s Colony, Sargodha Road, Factory Area, Women, Chak Jhumra, Dijkot, Thikriwala, Jaranwala Sadr, Samundri Sadr, Lundianwala, D-Type Colony, Satiana, Khurrianwala, Tandlianwala Sadr, Bahlik and Mamoonkanjan police stations, the CPO added.
He said that educated staff had been deputed at the front desks to immediately dispose of complaints of the citizens.
THREE KILLED: Three people were killed in different incidents here.
Anwar Bibi, a resident of Adam Chowk, was seriously injured in a road accident. She was shifted to the General Hospital where she died. Meanwhile, Allah Rakha of Chak 84/GB and Abdul Ghafoor of Shorkot were critically injured after falling from stairs in their houses. They were shifted to the Allied Hospital where they died.
10 BOOKED: Dijkot police have registered a case against 10 people on the charges of torturing a constable.
Talha and nine others had allegedly entered the house of Constable Sajjad Ali at Chak 87/GB and tortured him. No arrest has so far been made.
