No banners
This refers to the editorial, ‘Our banner year’ (July 14). Very valid questions have been raised about the recent banners around cities inviting martial law. This is not first time that such banners have been displayed. The question that arises is how an individual or group of people can display such banners. Why there was no reaction from the powers-that-be against an earlier such campaign? It can be said with certainty that had there been a reaction the present situation would have been avoided.
That said, the banners should serve an eye-opener for the government to put their own house in order and establish rule of law. Let us clean Pakistan and remove all type of banners, flags, posters, party flags, hoardings, wall chalking etc. The beginning has to be made now otherwise there will be total disorder in the country.
