Retired teacher shot dead

c: A retired teacher was shot dead by an unidentified man here on Thursday morning.
Muhammad Ramzan was sleeping in his house at Kot Dewan village on Jhang-Shorkot Road when an unidentified man entered and shot him dead. The body was shifted to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy. Police have started investigation.
FLOOD PLAN: DCO Ghazi Amanullah and ADC Muhammad Awais Malik along with the irrigation and revenue departments officials inspected flood safety walls of Chenab River here on Wednesday. During the briefing, the Irrigation Department officials said that Chund, Thatha Malha, Wijhlana and other safety walls of Chenab and Jhelum rivers were in safe position.
ADC Awais Malik said that the flood plan was being implemented by the health, revenue, irrigation, education, livestock and other departments. He said that the Revenue Department officials were in close liaison with the Irrigation Department for round-the-clock monitoring of water level in the rivers. The DCO showed satisfaction over the arrangements and flood contingency plan.
