UHS board considers theses, synopses
LAHORE
The 115th meeting of Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held here on Thursday with Vice-Chancellor Maj-Gen (R) Prof Muhammad Aslam in the chair.
According to a press release issued here, the board considered the thesis reports of Dr Shahzad Bhatti PhD (Human Genetics), Dr Lubna Malik MPhil (Anatomy), Dr Yasmeen Niaz MPhil (Anatomy), Dr Muhammad Tariq MPhil (Morbid Anatomy & Histopathology), Dr Javeria Gul MPhil (Microbiology), Dr Sarah Qadeer MPhil (Microbiology), Naveed Suleman MPhil (Pharmacology), Dr Aliya Shabbir MPhil (Pharmacology), Dr Zafar Iqbal Ghafoor MPhil (Pharmacology), Maryam Zafar MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences), Dr Ashba Nasir Cheema MD (Dermatology), Dr Ahsan Ashraf MS (General Surgery), Dr Anwar ul Haq MS (General Surgery), Dr Rafique Ahmed MS (General Surgery), Dr Izhar Hussain MS (Orthopaedic), Dr Babra Marium Anwari MDS (Operative Dentistry), Dr Muhammad Adnan Akram MDS (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery), Dr Farida Munawar MHPE and Dr Aliya Muzafar MPhil (Morbid Anatomy & Histopathology).
The following synopses were also considered for registration of students in various postgraduate courses: “Haematological changes, lactate dehydrogenase and red blood cells antioxidant enzyme activity during storage of blood” by Tahir Shah MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences-Haematotechnology), “Determination of anti-cmDNA and anti-dsDNA antibodies in patients of juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus” by Dr Saima Pervaiz MPhil (Immunology), “Determination of IL-6 gene polymorphism (-174), gene expression and serum level of IL-6 in the patients of hepatocellular carcinoma” by Asim Tahir MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences-Immunology), “The role of rdar biofilm of Salmonella typhimurium in interactions with Acanthamoeba castellani (T4 genotype) ” submitted by Muhammad Arslan Gill MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences-Molecular Pathology & Cytogenetics), “The role of fimbriae of Salmonella typhimurium in interactions with Acanthamoeba castellani (T4 genotype)” by Muhammad Wasim MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences-Molecular Pathology & Cytogenetics) and “Comparison of 70% glycolic acid peels with 30% salicylic acid peels in epidermal melasma” by Dr Allauddin Mian MD (Dermatology).
